When you donate golf clubs through
this website and ship them in, you will receive an email from
the Rally for the Cure Golf Club Donation Center upon
receipt of the clubs. The email will list a total donation
value for the clubs in "good used condition" that will be sent
to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Per IRS tax codes, clothing
and household items (which golf clubs fall under) must be in
"good condition" in order to be claimed as a donation.
Donors should always consult with their tax professional regarding
if or how to declare golf club donations on their taxes. New
Federal income tax regulations require donors claiming deductions
for charitable contributions consisting of property other than
cash worth more than $500 to file Internal Revenue Service (Form
8283), "Noncash Charitable Contributions".
Please note that while this site provides
estimated fair market values for golf clubs based on the PGA.com
Value Guide, per IRS tax codes, donors are ultimately responsible
for determining the fair market value of the golf clubs they
donate.
